Impact for Continuity Organization (ICO) implements integrated, community-driven programs designed to reduce vulnerability, promote environmental stewardship, and create sustainable livelihoods across Rwanda.
Our activities focus on the following key areas:
- 1. Sustainable Natural Resource Management
We work with rural communities to protect and restore ecosystems through:
- Conservation Agriculture – training farmers in climate-smart, organic, and regenerative farming methods that improve yields and protect soil health.
- Composting & Waste Management – promoting thermophilic composting and safe disposal of chemical farming waste to reduce environmental pollution.
Inclusive Resource Governance – supporting the creation of water and forest management committees that include women, youth, and teenage mothers.
- 2. Climate Resilience & Environmental Conservation
We strengthen community capacity to adapt to climate change by:
- Providing agro-climate advisory services to farmers for informed decision-making.
- Supporting tree planting, reforestation, and soil conservation activities.
- Encouraging sustainable use of natural resources to protect biodiversity.
- 3. Gender Equality & Women’s Economic Empowerment
We champion gender equity and economic inclusion by:
- Promoting women’s economic rights and participation in decision-making.
- Supporting the formation of women-led cooperatives, savings groups, and income-generating activities (IGAs).
- Providing entrepreneurship training and facilitating access to markets and financial services.
- 4. Youth & Adolescent Empowerment
We equip young people with skills and opportunities by:
- Raising awareness on reproductive health, nutrition, and education.
- Providing vocational and life skills training to reduce unemployment.
- Conducting campaigns against drug abuse and unsafe media/technology use.
- Encouraging youth participation in environmental protection and community leadership.
- 5. Community Health, Education & Social Inclusion
We address social and health challenges through:
- Supporting teen mothers with protection, child care, and livelihood opportunities.
- Establishing learning hubs for community education and skill development.
- Partnering with local authorities, NGOs, and the private sector to extend services to vulnerable rural and urban populations.
- 6. Partnerships & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

ICO works with:
- Local and international NGOs to scale impact.
- CSR programs to bring investment, skills, and services to vulnerable communities.
- Educational institutions and the private sector to promote financial literacy and student investment awareness.
- 7. Supporting marginalized populations and local communities
We implement activities aimed at supporting marginalized populations and local communities, with particular attention to the needs and rights of Indigenous groups such as the Batwa people.
